Topic 4 - Erika Chong

"Rumors, lies and innuendo spread far, wide, and fast on the Internet." taken from "Introduction to Mass Communication: Media Literacy and Culture" by Stanley Baran, pg 324.

Today, the internet is 'far and wide'. Anyone from anywhere can create something and make it look so real. However, it is up to us to believe it or not.

In my own experience, I would chose to read news from a few perspective before building up a story in my head.
For example:
News: Economy downfall
Resources: [CNN.com] India's fault
[NYtimes.com] Oil's fault
[Star.com.my] US' fault
[Berita Harian] Malaysia bribing issue's fault

Everyone has a different opinion on current issues but it is up to us to believe who's side of the story.
